Yup, they have good customer service at Paramo. When my trousers started to
split at one of the seams they just replaced them for me with no questions
asked.

I have just checked, and am surprised to find that I bought mine on
January 22nd, 2000, so I have had them nearly 5 years and they are still
undamaged. One of my best buys, but I do take care of my gear.
My boots were bought in March 2000, so they are over four years old
also, and in good nick.

My winter leather boots were bought in about 1987, and are still in very
good order. Not on their first set of soles, and Yeti gaiters do a lot
to keep the uppers alive. Not on my first pair of Yetis, either!

I have a Paramo Scala jacket I bought in 1994 which was in daily use (not
always in the hills!) until I bought my present Cascada jacket about five
years ago. I have a pair of Cascada trousers which I wear around the house
in Winter, You don't need to carry separate over-trousers if the weather's
uncertain. They're all washed and re-proofed as necessary and are still very
comfortable to wear; one of their greatest advantages, to me, anyway. I
would agree with the heat comments, but find that even in cold weather, a
Rohan or Helly-Hansen T-shirt type of thing underneath is fine, but I do
recognise that it might not be for everyone.

Agree about the reversible shirts too, worn all the time and look as good as
new after 5 and 6 years (I have two).

Total covered in that pair of boots these days isn't that great any
more, as I only wear them for hard winter walking these days when snow
is likely. It isn't that I never get out in such conditions, but I'd
sooner be in my ski touring boots if everything's white!
