Try the Avon stuff, make sure its the dry-oil that you go for. A lot
of folk say it works, some say it doesn't (I think that's a reasonable
anecdotal assessment of the anecdotal evidence ;-) I haven't tried it
because Jungle Juice works for me... and I'm too chicken to move away
from something that works ;-)

I was bitten or stung on the inner thigh by something on a local walk,
and it raised an itchy red lump, larger than my usual reaction.
That evening I was standing up cooking my tea in the kitchen when I
suddenly felt needle-like pains on my inner thigh just above the knee.
I felt sure that it must either be something stinging again, or a
splinter sticking through my pants, but when I checked there was nothing
visible, other than the lump a few inches away. There are some small
capillary veins visible in that spot, and my mind considered a
circulation-related problem, or even a tick bite.

The needle pains came on sporadically over the next few days, sometimes
when lying in bed, and was considering a visit to the quack when they
simply stopped.

It remains a mystery as to whether the 'needles' were connected with the
bite or not......

I've not had those but the itchy red lump is familiar. Feels a bit like
a nettle sting.
