Sorry :-( the Copyright rules have been changed to 70 Years.

70 years from the end of the year in which the author died, for most
things. But there are different terms for different things. Here are
some examples:

In particular, it's still 50 years from the end of the year of first
publication for Crown copyright material, such as OS maps.

No - in fact when it was extended to "life plus 70", some copyrights
which had previously expired at the end of the old "life plus 50" term
were automatically revived and extended.

I have a raft of Pathfinder maps that I'll never need again, many in new or good condition. If you
have the UK sheet showing the pathfinder grid, I could post a list of map numbers.

One can do whatever you like with things for which you hold the copyright.
Lots of things are declared Public Domain as soon as they are written.

But given the OS's track record, they're extremely unlikely to give
away anything that they could charge for.

50 years for OS material

Starting to use it as free basemaps for orienteering mapping now..
Beats being gouged by those sods in Southampton, that wont let me
publish my own work on the net because they have contributed about 5%
of the material.
