  1. wanted to know what supplements to use to increase endurance - i'm about a
2:50 to 3:00 hour marathoner getting ready to start training for Boston =
would like to crack 2:45 in Beantown to auto qualify for NYC and London next
year. I'm not on the page of going mass marketing and using the
Powerbar/Powergel/Power recovery drink because it just doesnt burn well - ie
lots of sugar highs through out your run but not a consistent energy release
add in a sports drink so looking for examples on four products for endurance
    racing

which is it? fudging by a factor of 10min? it's one thing to cut from 2:50 to
2:45, it's a whole other order of magnitude to go from 3:00 to 2:45.

    plus if you're a 3:00 guy on a flat M, that might translate to being a 3:05+
for the hills of boston, very easily...hence you could not be looking to cut 20
Min off your previous best time to clock a 2:45 at boston.

  3. i've basically cut 10 - 15 mins off each marathon over 5 marathons i blew
up at the last one and had to walk in and clocked a 3:00 even - was on 2:45
pace up to mile 20 and had under trained...

thansk for the link i'll check it out

Salazar has a reputation that he was doping back in his days.

I am betting AlSal would like to take back that statement.

    supplements.

Well if the OP through some psychic skill unknown to me was able to discern
you were talking about magnesium supplements from your link to a lab
associated with one of the biggest performance-enhancing drugs scandals of
all time you might be justified.

And BTW magnesium supplementation doesn't improve running performance:

Lance spends a lot of time with his tongue in his cheek. The sad part is
Todd isn't getting an answer and frankly the question is almost
    unanswerable.

Sounds like your major concern is sugar highs which come primarily from
drinks/gels made from cheap sugar. I would suggest you look into
drinks/gels that have maltodextrin base which is slower buring.

    thoughts?

Have you tried a maltodextrin based drink, such as Cytomax? These kind of
drinks will give you a consistent burn and avoid the energy spikes. Drinks
like Gatorade are fructose and sucrose. This is a cheap form of energy.
Good for profit margins but not your body.

If you're interested, I've found the best prices for Cytomax at
    http://store.yahoo.com/bodyworks-nutrition/index.html (NFI)
