I had a pair that lasted quite awhile too. Tough made shoes, but
lacked a bit in flexibility if I remeber right.

I was very happy with my Saucony shoes until my feet grew some more; the
next bigger size just didn't fit quite right, so I ended up with a pair of
Brooks and a pair of Nike that seem to be working out well.

downside of the arc, i'm done w/them.

with the miles preceeding the 500 mark? how many miles do you think you'll do
in this pair?

Same here. I liked/used Saucony Grid Web, but they weren't quite big
enough in the toebox. So I moved into NB 879's and have had no more
rubbing problems with my big toe. But the Sauconys were indeed good shoes.

IMO, shoes have a sweet spot, depending on the model. They're either too
new, too old, or just right. For an important race I'll make sure the shoes
I'll be wearing are worn enough to not be too new and make sure I've run
some long runs in them (around 50 miles total).

But, actually, after wearing this pair for a few times, I liked
it so much that I went and bought 3 more pairs. Not only that,
I let two of my friends try it and they liked it. They went
and bought a pair each. So, yup, I'm doing my share.

If I got 400-500 miles out of a Nike and 800 out of my Saucony,
I'd recommend Saucony to my buddies and soon they go out and
buy it and they in turn do the same. Then one day, the sun will
rise on a planet where all the runners are wearing Sauconys...

It was like they were meant for running. The feel was just great.
I have wide feet and need a good size toebox. These fit the bill.

I'm 5' 10" and about 130-132 lbs depending on time of day.
(124 lbs after my long run yesterday).
I think I mid-sole/toe strike. No heel strike ever.
Toes - when I'm sprinting. But I don't usually sprint in these pair.

I don't see almost any difference in the wear outside. Even the undersole
is barely worn. But, I think the cushioning might be getting old.
I think I might get maybe another 100 miles or so. Don't know.

Last time, I went out for a fast-paced run and the next day I
felt a bit of soreness in my calf. But, I'm not 100% sure if
it's the shoes. Will keep an eye on it and see..
