  1. All,

I'm getting started running again and am interested in software to
keep track of my runs to help motivate. If the software also helped
plan runs would be a plus.

A few years back I got a download of a training log when I got my
Runner's World subscription but can't seem to locate it. I've looked
for reviews of RunCoach, etc but would like to hear others opinions if
there is freeware available before purchasing one of these.

I read the FAQ (#2) but the links are out of date for the oakland
simtel mirrors and I'm sure there is newer downloads available. Can
someone please enlighten me on what others use?

I currently am looking for something to summarize (graph, etc) heart
rate, weight, distance each week, pace, etc. Thanks in advance.

    Jesse

You might find my "StrideWare" program useful: http://www.StrideWare.com You
can download a free, fully functional, 45-day trial version from the
    website.

  3. Try a sheet of paper and a #2 pencil, works great and the price is right. I
could spend a million dollars on shoes, software, fancy watches and those [censored]
looking tights and I still couldn't outrun anybody so save your money and go
    for the pencil.
