  1. ....which was both dull and hard work at the same time.

My runs were horrid - god knows why, maybe I'm dying - swims the same,
conversations dull beyond belief, weather was stinky, boys annoying, food
    bland, sleeps fitful, opinions lifeless.

I know it's *me*, 'cause everyone else seemed to be having fun. Why do we
slink into sucky moods, I wonder? Stars in the wrong place? Hormone
imbalance? Natural reaction to being perky most of the time?

Acually, I know wherein the problem lies. Mr Guilt. A friend recently
ended his life and I feel *hugely* guilty that I didn't do more to help him.
Rationalisation rarely works at moments like this, so I think I'll wallow in
self-loathing for a few more days. Expect harsh posts.

  2. Go to a doctor you idiot. :-)

    really sorry about your friend.

i believe you answered your own question though.... this is a big thing
that obviously affects you deeply. expect to feel less than great for a
while, but you will "slink" out of it. mustn't blame yourself. i know
that's a natural response for all involved, but this was more about your
friend than you. it's not always obvious that something like this is
    coming.

hang in there, keep on running, and you'll be OK.

  9. For the uninitiated, what type of "faux" doctor are we talking about?
    Chiropractor? Optometrist? Ph.D?

Not to make a judgement on any of the doctor-worthiness of any of the above,
but I have seen the reference before.
