So, I just got my USA Triathlon membership renewed.
They've included a $25 off $75 purchase at SportsBasement.
I'm very much a novice triathlete, but I think it's time I stopped competing in my old running gear -- especially since I'm about to start a Bike-to-Run class.
I'd like to get a speedsuit. Sportsbasement has one-pieces from DeSoto, Tyr and Zoot for sale. I know Mr. De Soto is pretty active on this newsgroup, and I'm heartened by his very strong guarantee on his products. But his stuff is also the most expensive!
Additionally, I've read how some folks here have expressed qualms about one pieces -- that they get too hot. So maybe I'd be better off just getting a few swim/bike/run bottoms.
What do you think? Brand recommendations on a tri suit? Top and Bottom or one-piece?
I have a De Soto one-piece and I love it. I just waited to purchase it during the 'off-season' and got it at a reduced price.
I run pretty hot and I've not had any issues with a one-piece.

Thanks!

The DeSoto logo, at least on my sleeveless bike jersey, is huge, and very thick and rubbery. Like wearing a rubber license plate. So check that out--in the pictures it just looks like a printed logo, but it is actually a big rubbery sewn on thing.
I love my Desoto speedsuit and I wear it most of the time in the summer on my bike rides and transition runs. No problem with getting too hot, feels like a second skin. I tried on other brands and they didn't feel very comfortable in the store. I just wish Desoto would get a little more colorful with their suits.
I don't wear the speedsuit for indoor workouts. That I would think would be too hot.(I wasn't sure if the bike to run class was a spinning class type of thing.)
