Anyone familiar with this seller on ebay? Many frames for sale. First
accepted credit cards, now only wire transfer. I'm interested in a bike,
but wary.

I was interested in the Trek Fuel 95 that they had listed on Ebay. I sent
them an E-Mail to have them call me. They actually did. I had trouble
understanding the guy that called me. Supposedly, the bikes are located in
the UK. I did a search on both the address and name of the account that one
would wire into--nothing. The price that they had listed was at least $400
below US dealer cost and probably much more below the UK dealer cost. Add
to that the cost of free shipping....It's just too good to be true.
All of the feedback on the user name was that user as a purchaser, not as a
seller. There is also a discussion thread on roadbikereview.com under the "general
discussion" section that is not favorable.Usually, if something is too good to be true.....well, you know the rest.
Caveat emptor.

Any eBay user name that starts with Perkinssale and ends in a number is a
fraudulent auction. On 10/17/04 He listed 86 high-end bikes. eBay cancelled the auctions
On 10/21/04 He listed the exact same high-end bikes. eBay cancelled the
auctions. On 10/26/04 He listed the same high-end bikes and added a few more. eBay
cancelled the auctions. Why would you send anyone a payment via Wire Transfer to the UK or Europe.
They are TOTALLY UNTRACABLE.Tom
