Store dry (bone dry) as much of the time as possible. You may meed to
use a hair dryer/put bladder on radiator with vave open to achieve this.

Rinse out with Milton or dilute Domestos/bleach to kill bugs.
Rinse with clear water.

Wash after every use. Sterilise at least weekly with baby bottle
sterilising solution (you can buy tablets from a chemist or a
supermarket to make up the solution). Keep the bladder in the freezer
when you're not using it.

Keeping it in the freezer is what's really made a difference for me. No
matter how clean I might get my bladder, it's a pig to dry. If I store
it at room temperature, something *will* grow eventually. If I keep it
in the freezer, it's still clean and fresh the next time I come to use it.

I only ever use water in mine - no juice, no additives - and I've never had
a problem with "growth".

Hi, I always wash mine out with clean water. Then empty it and put it in the
freezer. As with food it stops any nasties growing. To re-use it takes but a
few minutes to be fully flexible again on removal, ready for use.

Camelback do a cleaning kit (available from outdoor stores for about a
tenner) which I bought specifically for the tube cleaning brush. I'm
sure other posters are right about preventing slimy build up but this
is the only way I've found to remove the stuff. It also contains a
bigger brush for the bladder but it might not be too effective ifyou
can't get in all it's corners.

Same for me, I know that carrying a bottle on yer bike may be anathema
to folks with a [ooh err] bladder but they *are* easier to clean or
ditch as necessary.

Wash out thoroughly after every use - allow to dry thoroughly in an airing
cupboard. If you forget to wash after every use, wash out with a *mild* bleach
solution, and then rinse *thoroughly* with lots of clean plain water before
drying.

Try to buy a bladder with a wide mouth, its easier to clean and dry.

When its thoroughly dry, roll it up tight for storing.
