  1. So, im taking the jump and getting some shorts. it would be smart to buy them locally so i can try them on, but I am planning to purchase online. the question i ask to you is what size should i buy? i usually wear a 31 waist for my relaxed stuff. an example of my relaxed term is jeans. if was to buy a suit, i would buy a 30 waist. i supose i can sqeeze in a 29, but its going to be tight. the size shorts i want come in the size "28-30" and the size "32-34". i would think they would make a "30-32" but they dont.

so which size you do you think? "28-30" or "32-34"

they stretch.. I personally like them a little snug as compared to a little loose. Personal preference, but based upon what you said the 28-30's would be fine I think.

My waist is just under 31, and I comfortably wear medium Pearl Izumis.

You sound like an M, but you'll need to try on. All manufacturers are slightly different.

BTW....bike shorts aren't measured in inches.

this is copy and paste - 3(28-30)
so the 28-30 would be inches right?

    Size 3.

    Equivalent to 28-30 inches.

Which is a good point. Although I "normally" wear medium, Giordana runs very small, and I take a large even though I am 160 pounds with a 31 inch waist.
