  1. Hi all
I usually do around 30-40K twice a week on a full sus bike on the rocky
tracks near to where I live. I sometime get slight pain from my testicles
but this has never caused me to stop riding. However, yesterday I was out
on a 90K ride when the pain started around at about 2. O'clock and by 5
O'clock was soooooo bad that I was carried off the track and taken home as I
couldn't stand up let alone carry on riding. If this were not bad enough, I
was less than 7 K from the end!! Bummer!
This only happens when I ride and I have seen the doc so know that nothing
sinister is going on down there.
Do any of you guys have a similar problem and what do you do about it?
Athletic supports do not appear solid enough but any advice on what to wear
    would be good.
My saddle is WTB with cut out and otherwise comfortable.

    Thanks
    D.

Change from kilometers to miles, Commie.

Try different shorts, different saddle? Hernia?
Nose of saddle pointed too high?
Rearrange gear in shorts. Maybe poor packing :-)
Stand up every once in a while to take pressure off important bits.

People often complain about pain to the perineum, but not often to the
testicles. Generally, your knackers should be out the way, so you need to
work out why you're getting pain in them.

The one thing you don't mention is using cycling shorts. If you're not
wearing those, your balls get to swing about and bash the saddle, which
can make them a little tender. If you are wearing decent cycling shorts
then you should look at proper, ahem, positioning of your bits and / or
    saddle tilt.

    :: Wince ::

Where are you sitting on the saddle? I'm thinking maybe the thin part. In
which part the "cockpit" of the bike may be a little long for you. If
that's a stem that brings the handles father back might help slide you back
taking the weight off the sensitive bits.

FWIW I got one of those split saddles recently and I'm not sure they are
the last word in comfort. They seem kind of hard.

  8. What? Could you explain how using kilometres makes me a commie? I live in
Europe which is outside of the US (for the moment at least) we use
    kilometres.

    A) If you don't quote anything, no one will know what you're talking about.

    B) Not quoting is a well-known commie trait.

    C) GET A SENSE OF HUMOR! (I think you have one, based on your reply to guy
    who advised castration. 🙂)

all I can say is ice....and I hope you're wearing adequate bike shorts.
LOL if this is even a real query. I've never had a problem down there,
and ya I'm pretty sure everyone has the same equipment. can't imagine
what you could be doing differently.

main pressure points on the saddle should be those bones in your rear
    (what are they called, perenial?).

if not, that should be the first clue that the rider is doing something
    wrong.

forgot to ask, since indeed you seem sincere (on the surface, in
replying): how well broken in is your saddle? it's not a new seat is it...

could be another thing to *ahem* look at. congrats on not yet being
annexed by us, by the way :-) ya never know, maybe Team America is
coming...LOL I loved that movie this weekend (yes I'm a Republican).

  13. Maybe you should buy a rigid bike and spend less time in the saddle ;-))

Is the pain from 'knocks' or from pressure? If it's the former, I found that
a switch to lycra shorts (normally under regular shorts) totally eliminates
this. Otherwise i don't have a clue, not heard of that kind of pain just
from saddle pressure... Good luck with that.

Maybe you should set your saddle horizontally instead of vertically.

Ah Yes! But Russia is part of Europe, the Commies lived in Russia, and it's
RIGHT NEXT DOOR to you! As everyone knows, Cuba is RIGHT NEXT DOOR to the
United States. The USA was very worried that such close proximity to
Commies would cause them to BECOME commies. So they pointed a bunch of
missiles at Cuba and nearly reduced the world to radioactive ashes in an
effort to stop the USA being assimilated by the commie threat.

So unless you are pointing missiles at your commie neighbours, you have
probably succumbed to the commie threat and are now a commie yourself. QED.

BTW, I'm not in the US or Europe or anywhere near Russia or commie threats
so it's OK for me to use kilometres. ;-P
