Hah! I saw it and was impressed by his questionnaire responses - he ticked just about every source of demons! Safran certainly looked and acted like someone undergoing an exorcism (as far as I know, from watching the movie), but his head didn't spin all the way around and he didn't call the priest a 'motherf***er'

yep, is available on dvd and is worth getting as there is enough "watch over and over" material on there to justify it.
who can forget john selling evolution to the mormans in salt lake city!
or trying to join the klan!

Did you see the episode where he was pitching his movie to the
Mormon movie makers. It was bad-[censored] Mormon mountain-bikers
bringing mormonism to the wrong side of the tracks.
They had a little teaser-trailer they were showing to movie dudes.
Typical dressed Mormons, white shirt and tie, but with shiny black
full-face bicycle hemlets on some hard-core dualies.
They showed the missionaries hammering their bikes around doing
stuff like riding down sets of stairs, jumps, etc. It was bloody
cool, and damn funny.

it was VERY funny. The DVD will contain exorcism segments that were 'too hot for TV' according to John himself (on RRR on Monday)

I especially liked it when he was talking to the KKK Grand Dragon (these are
not exact quotes but you get the idea):
Safran: "So as a jew, I can't join the KKK??"
KKK: "No"
Safran: "That's a bit bigotted isn't it?" (in his squealy voice)
KKK: "We are a bigotted organisation.......this is over.....get the F*&^
out of my compound!!"
Think it would have been interesting to have John talk with the camera
post-exorcism last night.....if he was acting then he did a pretty good job
of keeping a straight face.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't acting... if it was acting, he should win on Oscar. :p
incredible Tv, last nights episode.

Hey, i must have some devil round these parts.
Neighbour told me last night "Did you see that nutcase Safran on the TV last night?"
(neighbour is the wrong side of 100-ish). Anyway, apparently we our house is the old Safran residence from the 80-90's. Always wondered what those little icons were screwed into the door frames...

Surely he was acting. It's what the show is - he pranks people. How
else is he going to get that crazy exorcist to spout all of his [censored]?
I think he did an excellent job (as he tends to) of researching his
role, as he definitely pressed all the right buttons.

Okay, thought about it for a few minutes. This is the last prank of
the series. John has been pranking these nutcases (along with some
decent spiritual people) for weeks - we've been laughing at them. For
the final episode he pranks the audience: "is he acting? Wow, maybe
it's all true!" It's like a TV show in which all sorts of terrible
things happen and the protagonist wakes up at the end - it was all a
dream... and then there's some small sign that it may not have been
(mother's eyes glow green or some [censored]). It's what I would do if I had
10% of his talent and ferret cunning.
Gotta go, mum's eyes have started glowing green...
my admiration for him has gone up 10 fold after monday nights episode.
i am duped and am sure it is real, but would love to be proven wrong!
That [censored] song "not the sunscreen song" was frustrating as i thought "how could this be the same man who did a nudie run in israel with his sainters jumper on??".
but he definitely back. i await his next incursion with trepidation....
Wonder what kind of bike he rides?

If I had to make the call based on his voice, it'd
be hybrid with mirrors on both sides and full
fenders.
Making the call based on what I've seen him do,
I'd say a brakeless fixie, painted pink, that he
rides backwards through town..
hippy ;-)

saw him riding down Swanston St last summer on a (i think) navy blue el cheapo mtb with ( from memory) riser bars on it and a rear-rack with milk-type crate strapped on. Was wearing a real daggy helmet (possibly stackhat. very boxy).
street cred intact...
