What tyres do you use, which tyres do you prefare?
I have until recently "recently being 5 or 6 hours ago maybe longer by the time some read this" been using continental GP 3000 tyres, now i have found that the rubber surface has seperated from the tyre, leaving the wheel prone to punctures, plus it felt as if it was sliding; slipping even on certain parts of the tyre when cornering, which i found quite scary at the time, this isn't something i have experienced before, has anyone else experienced anything similar maybe with a different tyre or even with the continental GP.
What is a good pro tyre, not entry level offering the least rolling resistance, also does this happen to all tyres or is it a sign that they have become excessively worn.

Your tyres are (WAY!) too old. I like vittoria corsa cx, but there are lots of good tyres in the world - vredestein, vittoria, continental, michelin. Others too... Try posting stuff like this in the equipment forum.

I just started riding Vittoria Diamonte Pros. They are awesome, they have very low rolling resistance, a very comfortable ride and corner better than any other I have tried. I only have about 350 miles on them, so I'm not sure how long they last. Hopefully they're good for 1500 miles or more since they normally go for $45 each, althouhg they go on sale for around $35. I never felt safer cornering than on these tires. It probably also helps that I starting riding my new Kysrium SL's at the same time

the problem that i found with these tyres on the road surfaces that i have to ride, was that the wheel would bottom out on potholes, and some parts of the roads that i have been using to ride, although the vitorri that i have from my training wheels doesn't seem to do this since the tyre is pretty much just as narrow but its depth is almost double that of the continental, would the bottoming out be due to insufficient tyre presures. the last thing i need is another pair of rims with multiple flatspots; any ideas?
Michellin Pro Race tyres have far exceeded all of my expectations. They are very durable, have low rolling resistance, and dont wear out in the middle like the vitorias. They are great for performance, flat resistance and have a long life. I have 2500 miles on one set and they still look good. My problem with vitoria tyres is that the center of the tyre where it touches the road, wears out really fast and leaves a flat area in the middle. This means more tyre area on the road and creates more resistance and more oppertunity for flats. The Michellin Pro Race, do not show any of those signs. They do cost a bit more but you can get them on ebay for an excelent price. I have even picked up 4mph coasting down hill with these tyres. I would rather use my old cheap wheels with Michellin Pro Race than my new race wheels with vitorias. But thats just my experience and opinion. Try it out and see for yourself.
