I've a Cateye Cordless 2 computer for the bike. (probably about 3 or 4 years old). Unfortunately the remote sensor got caught in the spokes and snapped off.
I bought a replacement, which although is the same part number and states it's for Cateye 2 looks different.
I can't get the sensor to work with the computer.
Anyone got any ideas of how to register sensor to main? Or is there something else obvious to try?

You have checked that both sensor and unit have working batteries? I know it sounds obvious but its possible

Yep. Checked the batteries. All looks OK.
I'm not a sciency person, but wouldn't sending and receiving frequencies have to match? Could this be an issue if a sensor/transmitter were purchased as a replacement?
ISTR that the frequencies between computers vary so that your riding companion's transmitter doesn't effect the receiver on your bike.
I'm probably completely wrong tho' and will crawl back to my arty farty world.
