  1. Does anybody know where I can get one for an 8 speed chain, and how much
it is likely to cost? Or if anybody has one spare they would be willing
to sell that would also be greatly appreciated! ;-)

    cheers

    David

The regular one works on an 8 speed chain just fine.

I purchased some of these 7/8 speed Power Links from some guy named
Sheldon Brown. He just might be willing to sell you some. 😉

Have you asked a local bike shop? Make some calls. Not a difficult
    part. $4 +/-

I gave my last one away to BFD. I just use a chain tool, being
that it is twice as fast. No searching through greasy links to
find the magical Power Link and then no wrestling the link open.
If you ride in the rain and grit, I would skip the Power Link. --

Or go to a Super Link. See:

    lickbike.comproductpage.asp

I've been using Super Links for years and have never had a problem
disconnecting one, unlike the couple of Power Links I've had to deal
    with. :-(
