I just mounted an older (about 2000 miles) set of tires on a new set of wheels, and I'm having problems getting the beads to seat properly. I've never had problems with these tires before, and they feel alright going onto the rims. Once they're inflated, some parts of the beads aren't sitting out all the way. In other words, some parts of the tire are sticking out of the rim less than the rest. Any ideas on how to take care of this?

Inflate the tire to about 65% of where it should be inflated (it should be soft), mount the wheels to the bike, and then lightly put pressure on it and walk it along a flat paved surface (as if you were walking your bike up a hill, or just for the heck of it). That should give the bead some uniformity. Don't jerk the bike around or make any abrupt movements. Lightly lift whichever wheel you're working on off the ground and give it a spin. If you don't get any tire bounce or weirdness, inflate the tire the rest of the way and you should be set.
