Was I rash to shop at Aldi?

I too am "Man at Aldi" and had a short ride out in my Blue / Grey / Yellow
Aldi uniform with no adverse effects. The only prob I did notice was that
with my Aldi pedals when I was cycling around a corner the pedal actually
clipped the road - fortunately I managed to stay on - it seems that the SPD
pedals are somewhat longer than my standard pedals.....hmmm pain

This is my first experience with SPD pedals / shoes and I am really pleased
how quickly I have adapted to them and how beneficial they feel, almost
instantly - I feel really comfortable with them - so might go the expense
and get a better (lighter / shorter) pair of pedals.

No, but I have suffered same from other general clothing in the past. As a
result I wash everything new before I wear it.

Fabrics are quite often sized (substance applied to the surface
of the fabric) to make them easier to sew and to make them look
better in the shop, eg: they can be used to give bulk to a cheap
fabric to make it look more expensive and durable. Sizings should
just wash out so, since your skin doesn't like whatever it is
they've used, throw your new Aldi gear in the washer before you
wear it in future.

Yep it's all in the wash as we speak........there could be a few "worn
once only" items going on ebay in a couple of weeks!

In fact have you seen the number of cheeky gits/entrepreneurs who
obviously buy up Aldi stock and hawk it on ebay?

Yes, the last time Lidl did bike stuff it was all on eBay the next day; boycott it is the only solution I suppose, although Lidl/Aldi do have the right to restrict numbers of items if they suspect that it is going to be sold on, there is a disclaimer to this effect at the till (of course nothing to stop you going in x times)

To any eBayers out there doing this type of thing; You are all parasites!!

even worse are the number of Livestrong armbands; if the proceeds of the sale are not going to the charity (most say they are). If anyone is that desperate for one you can have mine!

Yup - it's a common sight. Mind you, I've seen a guy attempting that and being
told to go take a hike by the Aldi staff.

Sure, the chamois in my EBC shorts is a better shape than the one in the
Aldi ones, but the EBC pair cost twice as much and the legs ride up
turning them into hotpants!

For a daily commute I don't want race-cut clothing, I want cycling gear
that is comfortable and cheap. The Aldi stuff is both, and picking up on
someone's allergic reaction that is likely as not going to go away after
washing is just plain stupid. I assume that was the impression that you
were trying to give? ;-P

That's not fair, there is nothing wrong with Aldi stuff for the price; I am very prone to itchy clothes and have had one of their 4.99 shirts for over a year no problem, in fact it has out-lasted a Nalini top which was 3 times the price.

I've just bought a pair of the Aldi winter trousers. I tried them out today. Apart from being a little on the long side they were perfectly fine. I think they're great value.

Yep done - thanks. Never happened before with anything I've bought.
That's why I was wondering if any other Aldi "virgins" were suffering.
Talking of virgins, Aldi is an anagram of Laid, and at that point I
think I should stop typing
