my 2 yo Chorus levers seem ruined. I noticed, after the shifters stopped working, that there is plenty of rust inside the mechanism. I am guilty of riding on the rain last week and not drying them, but I was surprised at the amount of damage found.
I do remember riding on the rain with my "old" Ultegra shifters and never having this problem.
Is there a way to salvage them? Or, do I need to buy new ones? The rust is in the downshifter lever and the toothed wheel mostly. Would Record shifters be better because they have more titanium parts?

Have a good bike shop that 'qui si parla Campagnolo'(like us), take them apart and overhaul them. easily salvagable and easy to make them like new-
