so riding last night at 00:30 it wasn't as cold as i thought but interesting. waiting at a light another bike passed me up. i caught up to him and thought i'd drop him on the hill; well i didn't and ended up pulling him all the way up (dexter ave). np. we were about to exchange greetings at the stop by the freemont bridge but there were some people up ON the billboard yelling "hey bikers! bikers! hey! woo-hoo!" and they invited us up there for a beer. damn that sounded quite good and i was almost fooled by thirst into that situation. the other cyclist went up there but i had to go. was too high-vis and didnt want to deal with blackberries riping my gore tex. i wonder how their evening went? ~ ~ -o-o

no offense, but you obviously haven't been to fremont in a while. it's fully marinified with some ceo's idea of architecture that's uglier than emp! no, these were just unsupervised 20 somethings probably venturing outside of their gated community over on the eastside for the first time. but the troll is still there, over under the bridge and the last time i was there some homeless guy had claimed it. that bug would make a nice little hobbit house.

LOL yes! check out the new building right on the northwest corner of fremont ave and (what's that street that parallels the ship canal?). at least emp is unique (and quite stunning close up on the sea ctr side at sunset). the facade on this building in fremont is like some sort of neo yuppie modern curlicue idea stratght from trading spaces! there used to be some cool neighborhood bars around there but now you've got to go up to phinney or ballard.
