Hi all Just wondering if anyone here rode the 2004 Duo Normand? I am curious as to how the date change from the end of Sept to the first weekend affected the event. I know a lot of our club didnt go because the ferry prices were still at summer rates. Anyone know how it went?

I rode this year - we were 5th in the veterans category with 1:22:18. It all seemed very similar to last year - a bit hotter. We made a holiday of it, we took the spouses amd had a week in Normandy. So I would say the date shift made little difference, except I had to miss the Icknield '12'!

Double bonus if you get to miss a 12 in my book!
I've always fancied having a go at this. hmmmmmm. Team URC anyone?

Its a fabulous event. Closed roads, following car if you can persuade someone to drive it, spectators! In the afternoon you can sit at the Bar Sportif and be amazed at how quick the Pros are. The change of date should help the chances of good weather.

Bloody 'Ell thats 10 minutes faster than I have ever done it, I'm impressed. That sounds like a very good holiday. I'm glad the date change didnt affect it as I love the event.
