disc mount for non-disc mount frames

Don't do it. I tried twice. One was made by Hope and the other by
Woodman. Never worked for me and they don't work with all frames. You
can have both dirt cheap if you want. I just stare at them all [censored].

A few months ago, I was seeking info on retrofitting a
Disc Frame to use V-Brakes. The end result was a
suggestion by Sheldon Brown to try this product

I did, and said I'd give a report.

Attaching the bracket was a real pain. Getting it
dialed in right was difficult, and out of the box it
would seriously scrape up your frame. A little
ingenuity and some scraps of Rim Tape later, and the
frame is protected.

The hose clamps that hold it down near the posts were
useless, but some others bought at Home Depot were
fine. Just needed smaller ones.

If you're a weight weenie, you wont like this little
item. It adds some heft. But, my philosophy is that
if you have to pay for your own gear (meaning you
don't have a sponsorship) then you probably are not a
good enough rider that the weight will matter.

Function - since this thing is about the weight of a
horseshoe, it is beefy and stiff so no flexing. I
used a stiffener on my old frame anyhow, so one part
exchanged for another.

Absolutely no difference in using this than using a
frame with the posts for v-brakes. Works great. All
doomsday predictions that it would slip and wreck my
wheels or tires have not come to pass.

So, if you or anyone you know are ever in the position
of having procured a disc-only frame, and need a
retrofit, I recommend this fix - for forty bucks I got
my bike back out there instead of upgrading my brakes
and wheels just to keem Mr. Shimano's yacht full of
diesel.

its called "A 2 Z rear adapter".
for the front i think you should just get a new fork if you dont have it already
