Trainer recommendations?

you think about it that's only two bike jerseys). Recommends?

Should I get an actual 'shiney' type slick and swap out tires? I may
make this setup with my hybrid, the 'indoor' bike and get a Trek
1200C for the road.

The bigger the flywheel the more it's like the real thing, although it never
will be the same. And yes do get a slick. I save all my [censored] tires that I
don't want to use on the road anymore and use them on the trainer in the
winter.
There are lots of threads on trainers in rec.bicycles.tech and
rec.bicycles.racing. Spend some time googling them before you buy.

I have a Tacx Swing at the moment. The flywheel is bigger than most but not
big enough 😉 I'm contemplating either getting a pair of rollers and keeping
the trainer. Or get myself one of these virtual reality thingies.

My experience with trainers is that unless you're storing or using the
energy you're expending, it's wasted. That, to my thinking, is
unnatural in the context of bicycling.
