The "H" at 7 A.M. Thursday morning is at my house. The last hurricane
that came this close took down hundreds of trees on our property. That
was 25 years ago. I have a feeling my bike trails are about to go into
    hiding. Wish me luck.

I recently stayed 3 weeks on the beach at Dauphin Island. I posted some
    totally non-bike related pics at
    http://www.touart.org/xfish4/album_cat.php?cat_id=3
but if the storm knocks out my server you'll get a 404.

So, are you evacuating, or hunkering down for the duration??

If you get tired of the whistle of the wind, I've got extra beds and a
camper out back avail for weather refugees.

Luck! (Forgot that other states were in path, too -- hope it fizzles out
    before landfall.)

    Gorgeous pics.

Liked the rainbow one enough to replace "chick on bike pic" as today's
    wallpaper.

Thanks to everyone. Lynda, me and her damn cat are staying here. I've
checked out my generator and chainsaw. The battery on my Gameboy has a
fresh charge. We've still got four bottles of champagne.

I'll be in touch as soon as I can. I'll take some pics and place my
bike in front of some debris, just to keep it on topic.

This one's for you, Bill. A couple of friends came to visit one day at

Looks like they're inside? Anyway, I still like the rainbow one better 🙂

I'm sure more than a few of us are on your side, Rich. Downed trees =
bridge material for the riparian areas.

Dealt with that issue here in VA last year as a result of Hurricane Isabel.
That was a wuss category 1 storm with winds barely over 80 mph. It
absolutely trashed every trail in the area -- and there ain't many to start.
Can't imagine what a cat 4 storm will do. Good luck, especially as you plan
on staying. Personally, I'd seal up the casa and get the hell out.

This silver lining was all the folks it brought out after the fact to help
repair the trails. Still see many of them at the local club events.

    Stay dry!

    Tom
