When my Road Morph pump was new in 2001, everything was fine. Lately, the part that holds it on to the bike tube has relaxed and the pump has been sliding down and eventually falling off. I contacted Topeak, and they graciously sent me (for free) one of their new, improved pump holders which works by sliding a part fixed to the Road Morph into the slot on the attachment strapped on the bike. If it would snap into place, all would be well. But it doesn't, it just slides there, and I am having all kinds of problems keeping the pump on the bike when the bike is going over our famous chip/seal roads.
On Saturday, I thought I heard an odd sound, and sure enough, the edge of the pump was scraping against my rear tire. The slide attachment doesn't keep the bottom end of the pump solidly fixed, and it tends to sway. This is getting aggravating! Does anyone have a surefire way of keeping the pump on the bike short of just putting it on with zip ties?

Ditch the frame pump.
CO2 cartridges are much faster and easier, and don't have to hang on your bike.
You might want to consider using a velcro strap. Easy to pull off when you want it.
