Is the great fit worth the extra $$$ you're paying, but not getting a carbon-soled shoe? How much of the carbon sole is hype? Is it better to get the Shimanos w/ carbon sole and miss out on the foot-bliss that is a pair of Sidis? Thanks.

mate, ive ridden sidis on every pedal system except speedplays. I have found they flex more with looks and spd's than on times. i think this is because times have a massive, rigid steel plate which facilitates power transfer. Just my feelings, tho. could be imagining things. And yes i am currently riding time pedals and yes, i have just purchased a new pair of genius 4's (black like lance use to use). carbons are super stiff but for wearability , comfortability and life i go for sidis, as well as taking EVERY cleat arrangement (i have a gripe about brands only accepting one or two arrangements for exclusivity). My sidi techno's have finally died after 8 years of abuse so dont think u wont get your use out of them. -
I do think I'll give the Genius 4's a shot.
