I've come to the conclusion that the stem at 22mm must be roughly the ID of a standard 1" threaded steerer (although some stems are stamped up at different OD's from about 22mm to 22.7mm).
It's all rather immaterial now, as the frame is scrap after I couldn't remove the stuck seat post! Tried everything from Sheldon Brown's site, and couldn't cut it out as it was inserted about 9" into the seat tube!
Just bought a DMR Trailstar frame, and picked out some nice DMR Wing bars. I WILL have that motocross bike look!
