  1. Can anyone point me towards a decent charger for my Cat-eye lamp set up?
Something I know won't bugger up the battery ๐Ÿ™‚. Float charging is it
    called?

    www.maplin.co.uk

Take a look under Electrical -> Batteries and Chargers -> Sealed Lead
Acid Battery Charger for a "Three Stage" charger that suits the rating
    of your battery.

I will always explain revoked keys, unless the UK government
prevents me using the RIP Act 2000.

A three stage costs more than the lights did though. And twice what a
replacement battery costs. Granted, if I blow up a battery with a cheap
charger, I've not saved much. Are the constant voltage ones ok, or are they
basically the same as what cat-eye supply? What's the difference between two
    stage and three stage?

    Effectively the same thing.

A two stage has a high and low current charge rate, and drops from one to
the other during a charge cycle. A three stage might have three distinct
stages, as per a two stage, but could also be a standard two stage, with a
third stage that sends a small discharge pulse to 'normalise' the cells in
the battery pack. It would depend on which particular charger you refere
    to.

Have a look around this site www.myra-simon.com/bike/links.html there
used to be step by step guide to making your own SLA battery charger.
