Unicycling is quite hard to learn, I've tried on and off for a couple of years and haven't quite gotten the hang of it. There is considerable falling involved in learning and with your size that might be your biggest issue. All the unicycles I've seen have been quite rugged and could probably take a lot of punishment.

  3. I've seen an episode in 'Ripley's Believe or Not' about a guy that uses a unicycle as an MTB! Yes, he rides trails, jumps over boulders, and yes, even climbed a mountain on it! He may be lean and all but that unicycle can take a lot of punishment!

A good rim with excellent spoking can stand up to extreme punishment without warping.

    Happy riding!
