I'm not sure you will appreciate any input as these sort of bikes are
heavily criticised in this forum. Its a visually appealing bike no
doubt but theres stuff there you don't need and other components that
aren't of high quality. The one improvement I can see is the frame has
a little more reinforcing near the handlebars to perhaps make it a
little stronger than some of these bikes. The rear suspension
mechanism/swingarm is slightly more interesting than other similar
bikes. My view of this bike is its a marginal upgrade on the sterling
house bikes that sell for £65 like this one;

If you've got £160 to spend you should be able to do a lot, lot better
than the silverfox bike.

I would suggest though you stretch your finances to somehting like

Don't get this one as its got [censored] tourney gears as found on the
sterling house type bikes;

Check your LBS for deals on 2004/2003 models now that the 2005 ranges
are almost here.

Giant do some brilliant bikes for excellent prices and they actually
build most of the frames for their competitors bikes too. Top end
stuff.

If you can stomach anymore advice perhaps you can tell us what your
actually going to be using the bike for.

Wow! Thanks for the info. I will be using the bike for just general stuff
really but I will be going off road a fair bit. I used to work in Halfords
and knew bikes fairly well, but like anything, it's amazing just how easily
you can loose touch with something.

Well I would say it was a problem as it must have a negative effect on
sales even if its only a minor effect. Getting some warning about
cookies makes the site look really amateur.

I've just received their printed catalogue and can go straight to
individual pages without having to start from page 1. If there was
something of interest I wanted to show a friend I just quote the page
number and he can go straight to it. Fantastic!

A lady friend of mine has been riding a Muddy Fox for years and it´s still fine , mind you she´s had to change the forks , the wheels the bottom bracket the - well you get the picture and all due to wearing them out and the frame is still fine aside from having to change the swingarm pivot bearings last year . 😄

I forgive EBC far too much because I have a soft spot for their
professed politics, but their website is truely awful. As mentioned
before, if you place an online order, it gets printed out and handed to
the "online orders staff" who then re-enter the order into the
completely separate stock control system.

It's always good to see technology being used to make a simple job
harder!
