  1. I recently purchased a Zefal elegante pump, which touted its
    "auto-select valve system" as adapting automatically to presta or
    schraeder valves. As far as I can tell, it's the old setup that
    requires one to unscrew the cap, flip the rubber insert around, and
    rescrew the cap in order to switch modes. In addition, it has a metal
    pin for the schraeder valve that has to be removed for presta mode. I
    expect that the pin will eventually get lost, making the pump a
    presta-only model.

    Am I missing something or should I send it back and get a different
    pump?
