  1. Anyone here have advice on planning for three gran fondo type events?

    I am looking at:

    April 30 (206 miles, 20,000 feet)
    June 4 (Ventoux, 170 km/3500m vertical)
July 3 (Maraton dles Dolomites, 147km/4345m vertical)

If anything, the first and last rides are more important to me than Ventoux, but I would like to either do reasonably well or have that ride be a useful part of my preparation for July 3. I have pretty good base fitness and am working on longer intervals designed around climbing strength on the trainer (40-75 minutes 1-3x) in addition to getting out on longer rides and/or seeing how long I can stay on the trainer (snow!). I plan to continue this for the next four weeks (adding 2X20s once a week) and then add some MAP work in the last four weeks leading up to April 30.

My concern is that the rides are far enough away to allow some recovery but too tightly spaced to allow a real peak. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
