I plan to be walking in Scourie, Sandwood Bay areas beginning May 1.
I am lining up a knowedgable "local" as a guide.
What sort of weather can I expect regarding snow, temperatures?
Thanks.

Hi George
The month of May is on average the best month of the year in Scotland.
However as you are probably aware our weather is very unpredictable.
You are unlikely to get snow but I have known it to snow in June.
Unfortunately the west coast is the wettest part of Scotland as most of
our weather fronts come across the Atlantic.
If you are lucky you may get a good spell of weather but come prepared
for some wet and windy weather as well.
Hope you enjoy your trip.
Lindsay.

Wot Lindsay says, and note as well that a "fine day" in NW Scotland in
May could well be in the 60 F range (may be up in the 80s, but less
likely), but fairly safe to assume it'll be cooler than you're used to,
especially in the wind, so pop in something warm (an old gf from FL
would probably endorse this advice!).
Though it is often windy, this tends to be moderately high winds on a
day to day basis, rather than rip your roof off on a seasonal basis...
Pete.
