  1. Hi,

I have broke my XT M-739 front direilleur. I can't find exactly the same model in good shape, so does enyone knows which front direilleur I can mount instead?

    Thanx

  2. ANY 8-speed SHIMANO MTB front derailleur which has the same pull (some are dual pull, of course) & clamp type-and-size can be substituted.

MY observation is that the difference in Shimano front derailleurs of the same "type" is mostly in the quality & finish of the clamp band -- thus, depending on the 'vintage', you will see that some ACERA FDs will simply have a stamped steel clamp band whereas your XT-739 front derailleur has polished alloy clamp band BUT the actual derailleur cages will often be very similar.

Of course, the weights will vary, but not by that much ...
