  1. Well!

Around here, white vans - in common with most other vehicles - are
generally very well and courteously driven.

Yesterday was the exception. I was riding along a minor road, that
turns off a main road and goes nowhere except for access for cars,
but turns into a bridleway making a very pleasant and scenic cycling
route for when time is no object. My destination was the river,
    for a swim.

Anyway, just after the turning from the main road is a left turn,
providing access for a small commercial area: shops, offices and
carpark. As I ride past, WVM emerges from this turning, forcing
me to brake hard. Seemed to see me, but came out anyway.

And what is the logo on the side of the van? "Dartmoor Cycles",
one of our two LBSs here in Tavistock - and one of the shops in
the commercial area served by the turning. I even recognised
the driver: he's sold me various bits'n'pieces, and done work on
the very steed I was riding at the time. He said something I
didn't quite catch, but I think it was about thinking I was
going in the direction of his shop.

    Bah.
