  1. I used to be known as the magical lad who never got flats on his city
bike. We're talking less than one per year with 5-10K ridden! Nothing
special, no fancy tires or rim strips, just some bog standard 37mm
    Michelins.

I've had 6 flats in three months with the WTBs, and I don't ride this
bike nearly as much as the road bike, which gets the yearly flat or
two. All of the punctures have been tiny glass shards. The rubber feels
very soft, and cuts easily. Anybody else ride these? Are they all
pretty cut prone? On the other hand, they grip in the corners like
    being on rails. ;^P

Two flats in ten miles today. 96F outside. I'm guessing the heat turned
    them to Velveeta. :^)

The ultimate solution would be some Schwalbe Marathons as somebody will
likely suggest, great tire, but a little too wooden feeling for this
particular bike. ;^) Anyone know what the sidewalls are like on the
Kenda Kwests? Nashbar's flogging them for cheap right now.

The ray of sunshine in all of this is that I'm soon to surpass my
personal record of 10 Rema patches on a tube.

I don't, but these sound like what I went through with my Bontrager Selects [1]
(minus the sweet cornering). Try throwing some Slime tubes in rather then
junking the tire -- I picked up a wire from a radial steel belt, and the Slime
    sealed up just fine.

[1] Ironically, I ended up scrapping my tires, after getting several /nasty/
gashes in them. I now ride Ultra GatorSkins, with the Slime tubes. I've not
noticed any change in handling, but then I'm known for being terribly
    perceptive, either ;-)
