I have a fitting on my M5 that uses 7mm lock nuts. If I lose one I'll be
in trouble. The hardware store doesn't have 7mm. Any suggestions?

mcmaster has 7mm nuts PN: 90591A154 (zinc plated) or (stainless)
thats not a locknut, but it works
