I sometimes see a Lynx D-Type (Jaguar D-Type replica, but rarer -
about 40 ever made) driving round the Burnley Blvd. You have to drive
them.
When I was at school, the guy who lived across the lane from my
boarding house had two Bugatti Type 35s. There's one for sale at the
moment for 1 million Euros. About $2 million. This guy used to race
them in hill climbs and classic car races.
So what's the drama about riding a $10,000 frame? They are built to be
ridden, not hung on the wall like art. Even if they are stunningingly
beautiful.
