Well, he came and we had a terrific day.
B & Q were doing their community bit by showing how they promote 'green'
transport. They have a good Travel Plans department and wanted to do
something for cycling locally, particularly where children were
involved. They had asked me to become involved and arrange some cycle
training.
It started all a bit bizarrely, starting at the B & Q offices, then
riding with a fully kitted out Cofidis rider along some of the narrow
alleyways through the local housing estates.
The dog walkers were more than a little bemused.
At the school Bradley changed into more casual wear and after being
enthusiastically quizzed on all manner of things, he joined in the
training on the playground. an interview and a short snippet appeared on
the local news.
It was brill to see hear Bradley stressing the importance of cycle
training and to see the youngsters faces beaming away.
At teh end of teh day they all left clutching their autographed pictures
and wating more cycling. I'm sure it will be a day they will always
remember - the day they met a World Champion.
I'm sure my fellow instructor will also remember it - as the day he
snatched a sitting on Mr Wiggin's bike, while he wasn't looking ;-)
