Does anyone here work for a bicycle shop?
If so how long, and what do you think of it?

If so how long, and what do you think of it?Yes i do, and for about 3 years now, loads of fun and you learn something new everyday. you will NEVER know everything. sometimes its' annoying but that's like every job. but if u like working on your bike and buying stuff... it's like a pothead working on a hemp farm... im out of money alot. 😎

I don't work in a LBS, but I got a nice laugh at this! I am broke enough simply by having a bike shop near me! 😄Relatively low pay, and high temptation index... It is a job you either have to love or be miserable in.

Ive part-timed at a bike shop for three years. Like mentioned above, its fun as all hell.
But now that I have my regular full-time job my patience with retail is next to none. I still work there for the discounts and working with my friends really helps. The best is definately having a place to work on your bike for free and sometimes get free parts.

I worked in a couple of bike shops for several years. It was a fun, casual job. Didn't pay all that well, but the work pace was fairly relaxed, the work was interesting, and a good store owner will cut you some slack for riding time.
It's a double edged sword - I got a great discount on bike parts, but at the fairly low pay rate, couldn't afford to buy that much. Not what I'd consider a great career, but it sure beats working food service.
