Has anyone competed in the Wintergreen Ascent Time Trial. This event is held at the Wintergreen Resort VA. The course is 7 miles with an average grade of 8% with places as much as 15%. If you know this course can you give me some tips on riding and bike set up.

Thank youI did this race last year and it's one of my key events for 2006.
The first couple of miles are a gradual rise but once you turn up the road to the resort it gets rather steep.
There's only one real steep section that I had to stand up on that was a mile or so from the finish. I used a 34x27 and a standard road bike setup. I spent most of the time in my 34x24.
