  1. ok..so I am a college student..things fell together in such a way that I am not able to have my bike from now until January 14. I am not planning on doing so well collegiate races which start in Feb. But in an effort to do as well as I can I am running....30-60 minutes depending...and weight lifting about twice a week. does anyone else have any suggestions as what to do without my bike? thanks.

I guess any moderate+ cardiovascular cross-training will help keep you in shape. The only true substitute for cycling though is, erm, cycling but don't let that get you down; keep up the running and weightlifting - any opportunity to use an exercise bike or take some spinning classes in the interim? Like you, have hit the gym in a bid to avoid very short daylight hours and atrocious weather; it's perfectly adequate for what needs to be achieved but, by God, is it boring....!

    Good luck - cheers
