  1. Was wondering how many go on winter training camps in early Jan/ Feb? There is a crowd of us that go early/ mid March to Majorca for a weeks pre season training, but I know a few people who get in a week or so in Jan and Feb.Couldn't really go on these, but I do have some holidays to take in Jan, so was thinking about having a few high mileage days over four days, similar to going away, minus the sun and no rain 🙂

Is there much to gain by having a 4-5 day large mileage week within a month or so early season to get a boost to your training or do you start delving into overtraining by doing this too early season?

Absolutely there is benefit to any 4-5 day camp, no matter the time of year! Rest a couple days before and take a few days easy after, just like any multi-day event/race.

Overtraining? Only if you don't recover well. Go get tired, recover and then enjoy the effects a week later. Classic pro training.
