  1. Can anybody reccomend a windproof top please?

My local bike shops have got Altura Streams (£40), De Marchi Contours(£60-70), Briko ones(£70ish?), Nike ones (£70ish?) and Assos prosline (£140!).

Everybody seems to reccomend the Assos one and it does seem pretty good, but I'm not sure my budget will stretch that far for something I'm not gonna really wear off the bike at all.

Any experience with the others at all?

  2. Pearl Izumi are good and they tend to make gear that you could wear when you're not on the bike as well. Reasonable value too.

Segoi is my personal favorite for price vs. performace. Assos is the best but I don't own anything assos. Just too expensive.

  4. Ta for the advice, couldn't find either of those brands in shops near me and couldn't discern enough difference on internet sites to buy one on spec from mail order.

Got the Briko in the end, wore it today and it was great. (Had to stay away from the Assos end of the rack...) Was slightly concerned about its lack of insulation but no problem once I got going.Just got to sort out my chilly numb feet...
