  1. I bought a Specialized Hard Rock mountain bike the other day and I leave it out on my patio, uncovered.

Will it go rusty? Do I have to use some cover to keep it dry?

    Thanks,

    Jon

  2. It's well worth getting a cover. We used to leave our bikes outside, and used cheap motorcycle covers to keep them dry.
Otherwise you do tend to find rust, especially on all the bolts. Not sure if the Hardrock uses a steel frame or an aluminium one. If it is steel then watch any points where the paint gets chipped....

  3. getting water on anything i own seems to make it rust, so in my case i would sugest using a cover😉

  4. I most definiatly would. Just go to Home Depot or something and get a tarp. Their usually in the painting section. Its well worth the 10 bucks.

I personally would die if I left my bike on it the rain. Its a lower model trek but I like to keep it clean when I can.

  5. I put my bike in the Cellar of our house, i just carry it down the steps and park it there for the night. It works wonders. plus, its an aluminum frame, so I don't think it can rust.

    What model is your specialized?

I ride a HardRock FS and its a pretty neat bike.
