Width of tires

Narrow tires usually are rated at a higher pressure, and when pumped up to near maximum give less resistence. Wider tires are more suited to heavier loads, as in big riders, and fully decked out touring.

Yup. What he said. I'll even use a 23 up front and a 25 or 28 in back as the rear tire will wear out so much quicker. It also provides a slightly more cushy ride as most of a riders weight distribution will be on the rear wheel. It may look a little dorky but I gave up on cool 😎 years ago.
