Wide Boots?

I to have wide feet (normally for "shoes" 10.5 extra wide.). I find the
Brasher boots wider than others, as well as generally more comfortable.
(Done some 100 Munros in various ones so they ain't all bad....)

& also if you have feet/boot issues try wot I found helped a lot: One pair
very thin (eg ."Brasher better than silk" .) sock & the one conventional
walking sock.

Finally, whatever you do buy, wear them at home for a few hours to check
before filling them up with grit & mud...

Try Altberg in Yorkshire. They make 'off the shelf' boots in widths up
to Extra Wide, and also make anything from slightly modified to fully
custom made boots at very good prices. Quality and service is extremely
good.

For example - I bought a pair of 3/4 season boots from them. I visited
the factory for initial consultation, and had 2 return visits to
'tweak' the fit. The boots were made on a modified last, with the sole
from the McKinley Trek Classic and the upper from the McKinley Trek
Lite. The tongue was made from softer leather and with double the
normal padding. Total price - £165!
