While this was not intended to be a totally serious post, and a somewhat
rhetorical one at that, it did get some interesting responses. Since it
has "taken off" somewhat, let me clarify what I mean by irrelevant.
Granted, posts concerning gas prices, which can raise the bicycling
population, at least temporarily concern us. Ecological posts, which as
the most efficient non-polluting form of transport, bicycling certainly
has connections. And of course, SUV's which hog the roads and in the
hands of the arrogant, certainly can involve us in the worst way.
Note also that I am not referring to posts that start out legit then
wander off into tangents both irrelevant and immaterial.
But how does GW's involvement (or lack thereof) in hurricane relief, or
the "bankruptcy of Americans" relate? Neither of these posts have
anything to do with the subject of this group, board, or whatever you
want to call it.
BTW, although this post is not about bicycles per se, it does involve a
bicycling newsgroup. So in that respect, at least, it has relevance. The
the show go on. :-3)
