  1. Need an alloy 27.2 seatpost for my new frame. It must be SILVER. Black alloy or carbon fibre is a definite no no; they wouldn't be in keeping with the look I'm trying to create.
    I've got this short list:
    Thompson Elite
    Shimano Dura-Ace
    Selcof Ti
    ITM Big One
    USE alien alloy or Ti

Need to do this as fairly cheaply as possible as my frame & forks went over budget & I don't want to upset the wife...................

Looked on [URL=http://www.roadbikereview.com] for seatpost reviews & found a lot of bad reviews for the DA post which is the one that appealed to me the most. Apparently the bond on the clamp isn't very good & there have been a high number of failures.
Not sure about the USE clamp design either, apparently very fiddly to set up & possible thread damage to the bolts.

So my good friends, can you give me your honest experiences with these seatposts?

  2. Thomson Elite is a very high-quality, strong one-piece design, with a great micro-adjustment, IMO. I'm sure the others may be good also....Just pick the one you like best.
