But, not sure whether to get 16" or 18* My build really suits a 17" (5'4"😉 so I am an in betweeny. I went to Halfords to sit on them and my hubby says the 16" looks like a kids bike under me, when I sat on the 18* my arms were straight out with a little stretch. Question is is it safer to go for slightly bigger in this model. I have had an old bike in the past which is an 18". I am so unsure which one to go for and don't want to regret it. Such a shame you cannot test ride them.
I have a MTB frame which is labeled as a being 16" -- that is, 15" (c-c), 16" (c-t) & 17" center-to-the-top-of-the seatpost clamp. I converted the frame to use as a Road bike ...
My [I]dust-covered[/I] MTB frame is also 15" (c-c) & roughly 16" (c-t), but has a shorter-by-about-2cm (virtual) top tube.
Which is MY way of saying that 'I' guess that the frame size you choose should be based on where you will be using it ...
For off road, 'I' recommend you consider getting a 14"-or-smaller frame ...
For bike paths, the 16" will possibly be "okay" depending on the top tube's length; but, I would still consider a 14" frame for someone who is your height.
OTHER people may have a different-and-possibly-better opinion, of course.

Thanks for your help and reply, I picked up my bike today deciding to go for the 18, I hummed and hahed and felt it was more like the size I was used to and gave it a trial around the shop! Happy with my choice, Appreciate yr help tho...
